Managing Partner
SfermionCheck size: Sfermion does not publish a first-party check-size range or Dan's individual authority. Public deal records show participation in seed and Series A rounds, but round totals and third-party estimates are not treated as his personal check size.
Dan co-leads Sfermion's investment strategy around the experiential internet: founders, companies, and digital assets that merge physical and digital life through web3, AI, AR, and VR. The firm's durable behavioral lens is creation, connection, and competition, with a portfolio orientation toward digital media, entertainment, games, creator infrastructure, and the systems that let communities own and exchange digital value.
Boundary-pushing founders, new forms of creation and participation, communities with strong human motivations, products that deepen connection or competition, digital ownership tied to real utility, crossovers between AI and crypto, and teams that can turn emerging technical primitives into immersive experiences people repeatedly choose.
No personal pass list is published. Sfermion's narrow mandate implies weaker fit for conventional software with no experiential-internet angle, speculative assets without creator or community utility, products that invoke a metaverse label without durable human behavior, and teams outside web3, AI, AR, VR, media, entertainment, or adjacent infrastructure. These are inferred filters.
Start with the human behavior—creation, connection, or competition—and demonstrate why the product creates a more experiential internet. Show the role of AI, web3, AR, or VR; repeat engagement; creator and community economics; digital ownership or asset utility; distribution; safety and governance; technical architecture; and how the initial wedge can grow into a durable world, network, or infrastructure layer.
Identify the primary durable human motivation the product serves and measure whether the experience meaningfully deepens creation, social connection, or competition.
Explain how the product moves beyond passive pages and feeds into an interactive, embodied, immersive, or economically participatory experience.
Trace how ownership or tokens improve access, identity, creation, coordination, status, or exchange and why recurring product use sustains value beyond speculation.
Test whether web3, AI, AR, or VR provides a capability central to the user experience rather than serving as a replaceable narrative layer.
