Jay backs consumer and application-layer crypto products that make onchain systems useful to mainstream users. His recent work centers on financial applications as crypto's adoption wedge: wallets becoming trusted consumer-finance super apps, perpetual futures expanding into a global trading primitive, and prediction markets gaining institutional-grade interfaces. He also sees decentralized proof of personhood as reusable, user-controlled infrastructure for distinguishing humans from agents and bots.
Products with a credible path from crypto-native behavior to mass consumer utility, especially where market structure or open rails enable a better experience. His published cases favor teams with deep domain experience, meticulous product execution, speed and reliability, composable interfaces, real liquidity or adoption, and founders who understand both sophisticated users and accessible distribution.
No explicit personal pass list is public. His writing implies caution toward consumer crypto that lacks a present use case, trading products without liquidity or reliable market infrastructure, interfaces that expose needless blockchain complexity, identity systems controlled by gatekeepers, and international launches that ignore local culture, partnerships, regulation, or established user behavior.
Lead with the consumer behavior and why an onchain design materially improves it. Show product velocity, retention, transaction frequency, liquidity, reliability, trust and security, distribution, and the exact complexity the product hides. For markets, detail venue connectivity, execution quality, data, risk controls, and regulatory boundaries. For identity or AI, show privacy, portability, permissionless integration, credible neutrality, and a path to network effects from real applications.
Start with a high-frequency financial or consumer job, prove that open onchain rails improve access or product capability, then hide custody and protocol complexity while preserving security, trust, and user control.
Evaluate a trading product across liquidity, execution, reliability, data, risk, composability, distribution, and regulatory access; a novel market is insufficient if the surrounding participant experience cannot support real activity.
Test whether an identity standard is privacy-preserving, user-controlled, portable, and permissionlessly integrable, then look for applications whose adoption makes the credential more valuable and attracts further integrations.
Perpetual futures are moving from a crypto-native instrument toward a dominant global trading primitive, creating opportunities in audience-specific distribution, market creation, liquidity provision, and real-time data infrastructure.
Prediction markets need composable, high-performance trading interfaces that match their growing information value and give sophisticated participants cross-venue execution, data, and speed.
Crypto companies entering Korea need local presence, cultural alignment, partnerships, traditional marketing, and products adapted to a digitally native but not uniformly onchain consumer base.
Decentralized proof of personhood can provide portable, permissionless, user-controlled identity infrastructure as AI makes it harder to distinguish humans from bots and agents online.
“Perps could become one of the dominant trading instruments in global finance.”

“Proof of personhood isn't just about banning bots, it's about establishing clear boundaries between AI agents and networks of humans.”
