Barry Downes invests or supports investment decisions through Sure Valley Ventures's published strategy: Back UK and Irish founders building defensible AI software, using founder experience and technical diligence to distinguish durable technology from hype.
AI software with genuine technical moats, strong founding teams, enterprise value and potential to scale from pre-seed or seed to Series A and beyond.
No formal pass list is public. Companies without meaningful proprietary AI, UK or Ireland relevance or early-stage software fit appear less aligned.
Demonstrate the AI architecture and moat, production readiness, customer value, founding-team depth and the milestones to institutional scale.
