Senior Finance Associate
CoinFundCheck size: Not applicable to Matt's finance-operations role. He has no published personal investment authority or check size. Founder materials should be sent to CoinFund's projects address, while finance, administration or investor requests should follow the relevant official channel.
Matt's operating lens joins audit discipline with crypto-native middle-office experience: substantiate data completeness and accuracy, turn raw records into understandable reporting, automate repeatable controls and support institutional activity across custody, staking, DeFi, OTC settlement and other digital-asset products. His personal writing connects decentralization to freedom, privacy, open access and community while arguing that today's industry needs cooperation and bipartisan support rather than exclusion of government. This is an operational worldview, not a personal investment mandate.
Transparent and immutable transaction records; operational systems where records can be substantiated; automation that improves accuracy and efficiency; crypto products that expand personal freedom, privacy and inclusion; durable firms combining liquid and venture strategies; and decentralized communities with real technical infrastructure. These preferences come from his own essay, not portfolio decision evidence.
No founder pass list is public, because Matt sits in finance operations. Operationally, incomplete data, unreconciled records, opaque key controls, manual reporting that should be automated and weak institutional custody procedures conflict with the disciplines he describes. Do not infer an investment rejection criterion from those controls.
Do not pitch Matt as an investment associate. Send startup materials to projects@coinfund.io. For a finance or operations conversation, lead with the vehicle or workflow, systems of record, custody model, counterparties, reconciliation/control gaps, data volumes, current manual steps, security boundaries and desired audit trail or automation outcome.
Test records for completeness and accuracy, isolate relevant data elements, reconcile them and communicate findings in a form decision-makers can understand.
Automate recurring monitoring and reporting only after defining authoritative inputs, custody boundaries, exception handling and an auditable output.
Use multiparty controls and independently distributed key material for institutional cold-wallet creation so no single participant silently controls the asset.
Distinguish an operational finance associate from an investment associate before attributing a thesis, check size or founder-selection authority.
Crypto carries decentralization, freedom and community ideals, while institutional adoption requires rigorous data controls, operational automation and cooperation with government.

“I look forward to streamlining CoinFund's Finance Operations processes and adding automations where we can.”
